PROBLEMS DUE TO COVID-19

Problem in Market

The COVID-19 Pandemic has laid bare shortcomings in how products and services change during the time of crisis.

Due to movement restrictions, transferring of products between countries will take longer as transportation is highly dependent on office work, and there are mountains of paperwork and duplicative processes in borders. If we miss this planting season because of movement restrictions between borders, farming families could fall into a hunger catastrophe in a few months and this results of leaving an additional hungry people this year, reversing progress made on reducing hunger, according to the UN.*(1)

Also the new EU regulation on organic farming will come to the force from January 2021. This rule requires appropriate and proportionate measures to ensure the integrity of organic production and products in third countries.*(2)

Challenges in Supply Chain

Disconnected supply chain actors

Complex, global supply chains, involve many independent actors who may not trust each other. This can greatly limit the level of collaboration.

Onerous and costly data reconciliation processes

As businesses expand into multiple facilities and countries, it can be difficult to keep track of inventory and manage the numerous data and regulatory requirements.

Lack of Transparency and auditability

As the risks of trading with non-authorized suppliers is product recalling that can cause significant legal costs in addition to brand damage and lost sales for products.

MINAZ BLOCKCHAIN SOLUTIONS AGAINST COVID-19!

TRANSPARENCY THROUGH SUPPLY CHAIN INTEGRITY:

Blockchain networks could potentially help to move the goods faster because alternative suppliers could be identified and brought on board more quickly than today. With better insight into vendors and product inventory during a disruption, many buyers could identify where suppliers are sending products to relocate to new sources and redirect shipments where they are needed most.

In cooperation with GALAB Laboratories GmbH, MINAZ built up a traceability application which is a food inspection data monitoring and tracking tool that uses of permitted blockchain systems to tackle the integrity in the supply chain interoperability challenge. It helps to expedite organic chain management trials by facilitating data storage and sharing between partners while ensuring the trustworthiness of production trial data collection and reporting.

ELEMENTS FOR VALUE CREATION:

Supply Chain Mapping:

an easy-to-use graphical interface to map the supply chain and automatically set up the companies and associated nodes, all in a couple of clicks.

Automated Process Analysis:

allows user to quickly identify and receive notifications on data discrepancies between different consortium partners, enabling quick reconciliation, and avoidance of costly errors.

Traceability Application:

a tool both in mobile and web versions to easily track the product along the supply chain and check the authority of the released certificate and display data for analysis, recall management, volume analysis, and more.

BENEFITS

MINIMIZE COST WASTAGE :

Automation spanning the supply chain process makes commerce operation more efficient.

PROTECT PREMIUM BRANDS

Deliver verification system based on the Blockchain Technology

QUICKER PRODUCT RECALL:

Tracing back a product to its origins takes seconds that makes the product recalls quicker.

GROWTH IN REVENUE AND MARGINS:

Consumers appreciate transparent product information, and value tracked products more.

Project partner

GALAB Traceability Application

In cooperation with GALAB Laboratories GmbH, MINAZ build the GALAB traceability application. The App supports the accuracy and transparency of product claims with monitoring and inspection from the early stage of sampling of organic food products, chemical testing in laboratories, and monitoring and auditing the supplying process of goods to the final consumer.

The aim is to speed up the exchange of information among suppliers in real-time and help to the sustainability of the product's claims by defining exact origin, date, time, and location, or major supplying activities details of a product.
